Ow ya!

Ow ya, keep in mind these are only 6 person teams

It is time to start thinking of running again!

The registration for the Moab Red Rock Relay on 5/14/2011 has opened up. This is a 70 mile run through the La Sal Mountains which are easily the most amazing mountains in Utah!! It will require a 4,000 foot climb and then a 4,000 foot drop. This will be an amazing experience.

The early registration ends on 1/31/11 and then it jumps up close to $100. The cost is going to be around $75 and of course will require some travel. Let me know ASAP if you are interested in running with us, I know about a month ago I had enough interest to create 2 teams which would be spectacular! Let me know!

Good news everyone, time to start planning for the next event. Even better news... Tammi Miller is going to be the Captain...WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!! Go Tammi, she is an amazing person and a go getter I look forward to her Captainess!!!

You all ROCK!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you so much for joining the team and taking the time out of your busy lives to create this wonderful experience. You all are incredible and amazing. I have not seen as much heart and drive from a group of people even in the military as you all have shown. I really appreciate the trust you gave me when you allowed me to organize this group. A trust that was not taken lightly. I hope to see you all in future events and please know that you all have an open invitation for any team or group I have in the future (Moab2011 anyone?!?!)!!!!!! And let me know if you ever need a runner for your teams, I would be truly honored to have any of you as a Team Captain! (Yes, even you Tammi!)

FYI- We finished 97th out of 174 teams for a total time of 30:35:00, not to shabby for a group of fit, fat and elderly people wouldn't ya say, lol!

Slow and Steady wins the Race......

(FYI  this is Tammi blogging) Ah hem..... So I was strolling through the desert one day and I happened upon 4 mules!!! 2 mules riding upon 2 other mules... thought it was picture worthy!!!!  :-)  I have actually seen that particular mule pass Leilani as she was running down Northfield... it was so weird!!!  Serioulsy???  What the heck are these two doing???  Anyway the focus of my post is the voluptuous Leilani!!!!  Here are some "facts"   about Leilani... "she runs a 20 min. mile", she was born in Hawaii but has lived all over this fine planet "running from the law", she currently serves in a Primary Presidency, she has 3 darling children, she's an AMAZING mom, she's married to one LUCKY man, and she's always willing to serve, help out a friend or neighbor, or just be a friend to listen (look out mother Theresa!).  I adore Leilani and consider her one of my closest friends!

Less than a month!!!!!

Hey all,
First of all I would like to thank Sami and her husband for letting us use her back yard for the BBQ. It was a great time and I appreciate all that she did! You and your hubby are the best!

Second, we have less than a month and we are still shaking stuff up. Norm had to bow out of the race due to a very good friend getting married that same weekend. He feels terrible about not racing and he wishes the best for us! This means we need to find a runner so start asking around and see if anyone would like to take the journey in Sept!

Also, Jerry hurt his knee and we are waiting for the results from the doc this week(everyone cross your fingers!!) I am fully expecting that he will be able to run the race with us and look forward to run with him(keep those fingers crossed!)

Happy Running!

"Adrenalin Junkie" Jim

Hey all you running fools, get ready for an Adrenalin Rush @ The Red Rock! This is the type of energy that can't be bottle up, so forget your under powered energy drinks and become your own bottle of energy to be unleashed on the world @ any given moment!!! If your going to run with the "Big Dogs" , then you need to get off the porch. Let's bring on the pomp and circumstance and don't forget your costume, because we will rip up the asphalt in style with fit and fat runners attitude! Get pumped for this or go home to your box of Kleenex, this is not for pansies! These words are strong, but not half as strong as your going to smell after this run in the park, so get used to it!!!

If you haven't noticed

If you have not noticed we had 13 names on our list of runners. We were keeping 13 for an "ow crap" situation if someone could not run. Well we had an ow crap situation and Shannette had a family matter arise so she can not run. So now we are back to 12 people so lets try and keep it that way!

Just a reminder that if you have not registered to run with our team at RRR.com they you need to get it done!

Changes!!!

Hey all, I just got an email from RRR and to say the very least a LOT has changed. Due to permits, road construction, and safety the route has changed! For example the second runner will be running "The Diablo" and the run actually goes down through Cedar City. In fact the second van exchange will be at the SUU PE building. After looking at it I think most of the changes are to our benefit ie van exchange @ SUU giving us time to use the showers, restaurants, and beds! The bad part is we spent all that time picking our runs and now we have been placed on Shuffle and who knows what we are running.

I was advised in the emial that all the changes would be posted next week. So you can either wait and see it posted next week or shoot me an email or call me and I can send you a copy of the changes if you are worried about it.

One thing is for sure, with the changes we need to get together and have a chat about it all. I am thinking BBQ and I know many of you are as well. So look at your calenders and expect a call or visit to get this thing scheduled!

Happy Running!

El Capitaino!!! Justin (a man of many costumes) Zufelt

Here is our Head Honcho well..... in a poncho!!!

Did you know that Justin is REALLY a police officer???? I know, right?!?! When I first met him I thought he was just overly anxious for Halloween, but NOPE!! this 12 year old lookin', spike haired, doll face patrols the mean streets of Cedar City!!! I know I feel Safer!!!!! (Sarcasm)
And here's our fearless leader "running!!" Wow he is such an example to me!! :-)

All kidding aside we certainly couldn't find a better man for the job of captain. He tries to act tough, but when it comes down to it there isn't a thing he wouldn't do for us (with the permission of his wife, of course ;) He's a devoted, LOVING dad to 3 sweet kiddos and a PATIENT husband to one cute girl!! I am so grateful to call Justin my teammate and FRIEND. Love ya' Justin!!

Love,
Tammi
